- NEWS & EVENTS - - FULTON COUNTY MVA WITH ROLLOVER
Feb 29th - At 14:43 Paramedic 594 with Asst Chief 59 on board and Medic 592 were dispatched to the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 655 and Myers Road to assist Fulton County, Pa with a motor vehicle collision with rollover. Units on scene assisted to extricate the patient from the car, Co.59 requested aviation to medevac the patient to a trauma center. The patient was transported to the landing zone by Paramedic 592 and flown to Washington County Hospital Trauma Center priority 1. Other units on scene: Fulton County Co.55 (Needmore), Engine Company 5 (Hancock), Maryland State Police Trooper 5, Pennsylvania State Police.
MVA WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES
Feb 20th - At 12:34 Paramedic 592 was dispatched to assist Allegany County, Maryland with a two vehicle accident with multiple patients on Interstate 68 @ the 64 mile marker. Paramedic 592 transported 2 patients to Cumberland Memorial Hospital's Trauma Department. Units from Allegany County Co 43, Allegany County Co 12, Maryland State Police were on scene to assist. Paramedic 592 went back in service at 1511 hours.
MVA WITH ROLLOVER
Feb 6th - At 07:53 Co 59 units were dispatched to assist Fulton County, Pennsylvania for a motor vehicle accident with one reported to be rolled over. Paramedic 591, Paramedic 592 & Rescue Squad 59 responded to assist. Company 59 EMS units transported patients to Fulton County Medical Center. On scene Hancock Fire, Fulton County Co 55, Pennsylvania State Police. Units went back in service at 1056 hours.
PAST CHIEF PASSES
The members of the Hancock Rescue Squad would like to sadly announce the passing of Past Chief James Mortzfeldt. James was one of the original founders of the department and was Chief for many years. The members would like to express the deepest condolences to the Mortzfeldt family.
MVA WITH ENTRAPMENT
Feb 3rd - At 1026 hours Fulton County, PA 911 dispatched Rescue Squad 59 with Chief 59 on board, and Medic Company 59 to motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Upon arrival units found a vehicle on its side with one person trapped. Fulton County Company 55 extricated the patient. Stat 12 Med Evac transported the patient to the trauma center in Altoona, PA. Units cleared at 1217 hours.
HOUSE FIRE
Feb 2nd - At 0740 hours Washington County 911 dispatched a house fire at 257 Pennsylvania Avenue in Hancock. Company 59 responded with Paramedic 592 and Assistant Chief 59 to assist. Units from Company 5 (Hancock Fire) arrived and advised headquarters of a working fire and requested the working fire assignment. Units from Washington County, Allegany County, Fulton County, PA, Morgan County, WV assisted on scene. Units cleared at 1015 hours.
